If you thought it was too early to start watching holiday movies, think again. A Dog’s Perfect Christmas officially arrives on Netflix today, November 4, and it is bringing a serious dose of festive cheer to the screen.
Based on the work of bestselling author W. Bruce Cameron (A Dog’s Purpose), this new comedy-drama is exactly what you want when you need a good laugh and maybe a little cry. The story follows a family in the middle of a major crisis. It is up to a teenager, her grandfather, and one incredibly loyal basset hound to keep their chaotic household together just in time for Christmas. It is a simple premise, but sometimes a sweet story about family (and a dog) is exactly what we need.
Directed and written by Cathryn Michon, the film boasts a seriously impressive cast. Hollywood favourites like Dennis Quaid, Milo Ventimiglia, Mary Steenburgen, and Jennifer Tilly. Plus, Thomas Haden Church lends his iconic voice to the project, adding an extra layer of charm to the screen.
Whether you are a massive fan of animal movies or just looking for a wholesome escape from reality, A Dog’s Perfect Christmas ticks all the right boxes. Grab a comfortable seat, organise a few snacks, and let a trusty basset hound remind you what the holiday season is really all about.
