Lenny Kravitz is completely fine, despite some wild online rumours that had fans panicking.
Following a tragic Learjet crash in Greenacres, Florida, on Sunday, false reports began circulating that the rocker was among the nine people who sadly lost their lives. The speculation picked up steam after a social media post from pilot Emily Shelton surfaced, in which she mentioned she was “looking forward” to flying Kravitz.
Adding to the confusion, a glitch on Google’s Knowledge Panel mistakenly showed Kravitz had died in West Palm Beach (thankfully, that’s since been fixed).
Kravitz’s rep, Carleen Donovan, was quick to shut down the gossip, telling BocaNewsNow, “The reports are untrue and incorrect.”
Shelton also had to set the record straight. She took to TikTok to clarify that she was not the pilot of the doomed flight, which had departed from Austin, Texas, and was headed for the Bahamas. “I would like to respectfully clarify I was not,” she stated, asking people to stop spreading misinformation and to be respectful of those affected by the tragedy.
The FAA has confirmed all nine people on board the Learjet were killed in the crash, which occurred after the pilot reported an emergency, stating the plane was descending rapidly. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis described the crash as “cataclysmic.”
Our thoughts go out to the families of the victims.
