A teenage boy has been charged after allegedly stealing a car, that was also used to disrupt an Anzac Day parade in Townsville.
Around 9am on Friday, April 25, the ANZAC day parade at Riverway was delayed following a police operation, after a RAM utility was allegedly stolen from a Pimlico address. The vehicle had allegedly been involved a number of hit and runs on Friday morning with police diverting the parade as a precaution.
Police allege a 15-year-old boy was involved in the stealing of Ram ute from Granville Street, Pimlico, around 6am Friday. The vehicle was later located by police at 11.15am at Paddington Terrace, Douglas.
The teen has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of armed robbery and appeared in the Townsville Childrens Court yesterday. However, no one has been charged in relation to the manner of driving of the vehicle on Friday morning and investigations are continuing.
