It’s a film we didn’t know we wanted until the teaser trailer dropped but now that it has, vengeance for what happened to everyone’s favourite Deer can finally be ours!

“Bambi: The Reckoning,” is a horror retelling of Felix Salten’s “Bambi, a Life in the Woods” book which was the basis for the Classic Disney animated film that scarred us as kids. So how do they do this? Well the original 1923 version of Bambi has been public domain since 2022 making it “fair game”. (Oh that is a terrible pun)

This film follows Xana (Roxanne McKee) and her son Benji (Tom Mulheron) who find themselves in a car wreck and soon hunted down by a vicious killing machine, you guessed it, the deer Bambi, but very different to how you remember him. Watch the horror unfold in the new teaser trailer:

The British indie slasher is the third installment of the “Twisted Childhood Universe” released by Umbrella Entertainment and following the already released two “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” films.

It won’t stop there either, still to come from the team this year is “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare”, “Pinocchio: Unstrung” and they’ll all come together in “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble” in 2025.

“Bambi: The Reckoning” opens in cinemas on July 4th.
