Thwip!*
It’s been one week since Spider-Man: Brand New Day production began and took to the streets of Glasgow. Due to shooting in a very public location Marvel has been embracing the public and sharing a closer look at the production process. They’ve also just released a short video highlighting the first week back on set for Tom Holland, as he embarks on his fourth solo film as the iconic web slinger. You can catch it below!
Not much has yet been revealed around what the film will exactly entail in terms of plot or story. Rumours swirled for ages that Marvel and Sony came head to head over the handling of the story. Marvel supposedly wanted to go small scale and do a street level story whilst Sony wanted in on the Multiversal factor and wanted Spider-Man to go cosmic and fight larger threats. All we know so far though are just a handful of characters that are set to appear in the new film. These characters include Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Michael Mando as the Scorpion, and Jon Bernthal making his MCU film debut as The Punisher.
Bernthal has also reportedly been seen on set in Glasgow. The set so far shows Spider-Man atop a tank rampaging through the city, with Spidey trying to get inside. It’s rumoured that the driver of said tank is none other than the Punisher himself Frank Castle.
We’ll just have to find out when Spider-Man: Brand New Day drops in cinemas next year on the 31st of July.
