HBO Max has this morning dropped the offical trailer for its upcoming TV series IT: Welcome to Derry, a prequel series based on the mega hit books IT by Stephen King. The series takes place in the 1960’s back in everyone’s favourite loving and sunshine filled town of Derry.
The series sets up the events and are connected directly to the first film IT (2017). The TV series sees the return of director Andy Muschietti and even Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise. You can check out the trailer for the HBO Max series here:
Welcome to Derry will see Pennywise the dancing clown up to his torturous ways with a completely new cast of children to toy with. Though if we know that Pennywise is still present by the events of the first film, then I’d say things don’t look great for our cast of kids in Welcome to Derry.
You can catch It: Welcome to Derry later this year as it is currently scheduled for a fall 2025 release date, so some time in our Aussie Spring.
