Dua Lipa Sues Samsung Over TV Packaging

Global pop star Dua Lipa has launched a massive legal battle against Samsung, claiming the tech giant used her image on TV packaging without permission. The singer is reportedly seeking more than $15 million AUD in damages after discovering her face printed on television boxes sold in stores across the United States.

“Unauthorised Use” Alleged

According to court documents filed in California, the image was allegedly taken from a backstage photo captured during a 2024 music festival appearance. Lipa’s legal team claims Samsung used the picture to help market its televisions despite never securing approval from the singer. The lawsuit argues the packaging could mislead customers into believing Lipa officially endorsed the products.

Samsung Yet to Respond

Lipa’s lawyers say they demanded Samsung stop using the image last year but claim the company failed to act quickly enough. The case includes allegations of copyright infringement, false endorsement and breaches of publicity rights laws. Samsung has not publicly responded to the claims. The lawsuit is already generating major buzz online, with fans divided over whether the packaging crossed the line or was simply a marketing mistake.
