Deborra-Lee Furness Addresses ‘Those’ Rumours about Husband Hugh Jackman
Appearing on Anh Do's television show Anh's Brush with Fame, Deborra-Lee Furness has opened up about rumours that husband Hugh Jackman is 'gay', her frustration at those who say she is 'lucky' to be married to him and how they fell in love in the candid chat.
During the episode that was aired last night, host Do asked the 64-year-old about 'those' rumours that her husband has been gay for years.
"I see these magazines and they're so mean-spirited, so mean-spirited… I hope people don’t buy these magazines and realise it's all made up," she said.
"He’s been gay for so many years, I was gay too just so you know, when I did (1998 film) Shame. They were shocked when I got married," Furness continued on in the interview.
Do then replies to Furness with the question, "How annoying is that?" and her answer came as no surprise.
"It's just wrong. It's like someone saying to Elton John, "Oh he's straight". I'm sure he'd be p**sed!"
Actress and producer, Furness also aired her frustration during the interview at those who quite often say she is "lucky" to be married to the hunky Wolverine actor.
"People don’t realize, it’s actually rude to say that,” she said. “‘Lucky’ because he’s a stud-muffin, you know, but that’s showbiz and Hollywood and the brand of Hugh Jackman."
Furness and 51-year-old Jackman have been married for 24 years after a blossoming romance that began on the set 90's Aussie television show Correlli.
