NSW escapee nabbed in Hunter Valley hotel
A man has been caught in a hotel two-and-half days after he bolted from a police station in the NSW Hunter Valley.
Police launched an extensive search using a helicopter and dogs to find the man, who slipped out of Singleton station at 2.30pm on Wednesday.
Officers eventually caught up with him at a Muswellbrook hotel, about 45km away, at 6pm on Friday and arrested a 25-year-old woman with him at the time. She was later released without charge.
The 26-year-old has been charged over outstanding warrants and with escaping police custody, and refused bail to appear at Wyong Bail Court on Saturday.
