Investigations are underway after a car was found torched in Pimlico earlier this morning.

The car was fully engulfed in flames when emergency services arrived at Cheyne Street at 5.15am.

Police say the vehicle was stolen from a Rasmussen home on January 8.

Witnesses claim at least two people were with the vehicle when it was set alight.

It’s understood they were picked up by another car soon after, which is also believed to be stolen.

Officers suspect the men later tried to steal another car in the street but were unsuccessful.

Anyone with information about the arson or who may have seen the stolen Isuzu MU-X between January 8-12 is urged to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
