An NRL final in Townsville, a possibility

Townsville is on standby to host the NRL Grand Final on Sunday if the covid cluster grows.

The game in Brisbane between the Rabbitohs and Panthers has been declared a sell-out.

However health authorities are scrambling to contain two mystery clusters in Brisbane.

4 cases were recorded yesterday, including a truck driver who's been staying in shared accommodation and been out in the community while infectious for 8 days.

Chief Health Officer Doctor Jeanette Young is hopeful the game will remain in Brisbane.

“If we do the right thing and wear masks and get vaccinated, we can try and manage an outbreak like this in a different way, she said.
