Queensland has recorded two new locally-acquired cases linked to St Thomas More College.

Both students are in home quarantine and Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young says she is "fairly confident that cluster is in hand due" to the response of families, the school and the Metro South Hospital and Health Service.

There were two other cases in hotel quarantine.

On Friday, St Thomas More College was closed and families forced into quarantine after a 13-year-old student was infected with Delta.

Both new cases are 15, one is a male, one a female from two different households.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk praised the school students, staff and families for quarantining.

“We are thanking you for doing the right thing for Queensland," Ms Palaszczuk says.

"Please continue to do the right thing because you are helping Queensland."

Ms Palaszczuk says there will be new pop-up vaccine clinics in Mackay this weekend to coincide with the NRL semis.

There were 128 people who got vaccinated at the Eels and Knights match on Sunday at Rockhampton.

Meanwhile there is a new vaccination centre opening today in Toowoomba. at Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre. From tonight it will start operating seven days a week.

There were 14,506 tests done yesterday across the state, 15,378 vaccines were administered.

It takes Queensland’s first dose vaccination rate to 56.39 per cent, and 38.08 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Ms Palaszczuk is again encouraging Queenslanders to take advantage of this "window of opportunity" to get vaccinated.

Dr Young also announced a lift in ongoing restrictions on aged care, care, hospitals and prisons in Logan region.

But Dr Young remains concerned about the numbers of freight drivers who have been infectious in the community

Deputy Commissioner Steve Gollschewski revealed some people have been turned around at the border for not having at least one dose of the vaccine but otherwise there were not too many delays.
