Man wanted over Currajong store robbery


Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a convenience store at Currajong Saturday night.

A man entered the business on Hugh Street around 11.35pm and approached the male store attendant, demanding he give him access to the area behind the front counter.

The man further claimed he was armed, so the attendant complied.

The man then grabbed a knife, belonging to the business, from a nearby counter and lunged at the attendant.

The employee produced a club in order to defend himself however it was snatched from him by the man, who then forced him to the ground and took the keys to the till.

The man grabbed a some of cash from the register before fleeing the store.

Police have released CCTV images of the man (pictured above) who is described as around 183 cm tall with a dark complexion, aged in his early 20’s, with a solid build. He was wearing a dark blue cap, dark red short sleeved shirt with very small stars or dots on it, light brown cargo pants/shorts, white Nike hi-top shoes.
