Break and enter charges, Wulguru

Detectives have arrested two teenaged boys following an investigation into a series of home burglaries in Townsville.

Police received reports of around 10 residences being targeted in the Wulguru and Idalia areas in the early hours of Monday morning.

In one instance, cash and personal items were stolen from a Ransom Street residence in Idalia.

In the majority of cases, entry was not gained to the homes, however front door handles were damaged.

On Tuesday, it will be alleged a vehicle was stolen while parked near a takeaway store in Aitkenvale.

Late Wednesday, officers arrested two boys aged 15 and 16 after an off-duty police officer spotted the stolen car at Baralga Street in Crankbrook.

The Wulguru boys have both been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempt to enter a premises with intent, attempt to enter a dwelling, with the 16-year-old also facing stealing and driving without a licence charges.

Investigations into other property offences committed in the area on Monday morning are continuing.
