Mundingburra Residents Urged To Lock Up

Townsville Police are urging residents in the Mundingburra area to ensure their homes are secure at all times after a series of burglaries occurred in the area.

Thieves targeted homes in Loves Lane,Trot Street and Marron Street stealing various items of property including clothing, iPads, mobile phones, cash and alcohol over the long weekend.

Acting Senior Sergeant Jason Hancock from Mundingburra Police Station said they have seen an increase in break and enters in the Mundingburra area in the past few days.

“I urge all residents to be mindful of their home security even when at home,” Acting Senior Sergeant Hancock said.

“Let’s make it as hard as possible for thieves to enter your home and steal your property by locking the security door with the key even when your home, keeping valuables out of sight and hiding your car keys will reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.”
