Police Looking For Pair After Vehicle Rams Police Car

A car has been involved in a minor bingle with a police vehicle, after Officers showed up at a Townsville property to investigate a noise complaint.

It is alleged that Police were responding to a noise complaint at an address on Hugh Street, West End.  They were just leaving when another vehicle pulled into the driveway, then looked like it was going to leave so Police used their car to block the driveway when they were hit.

The suspect car was found a short time later after it had been involved in a rollover on Dearness Street, Garbutt.

Inspector Glenn Doyle, Eastern Patrol Group said the driver was allegedly an 18-year-old woman.

He said witnesses pointed out her general location to the Police.

Officers cordoned off the area and tracked her down with some help from the dog squad.

The teenager was breath tested before being taken to Townsville Hospital with minor injuries.

There were two other people in the car with her at the time, that pair remains on the run.

The police investigation will consider if alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident after drug paraphernalia was located inside the vehicle.

The car itself was badly damaged after it collided with a pole and wound up out the front of a shop on its roof.
