Parking Changes For Festival Of Football

The North Queensland Cowboys are competing against the West Tigers on Friday night and the Gold Coast Suns meet St Kilda the next day in the first AFL premiership game to be held in Townsville.
It will be a massive weekend for football supporters.
Police are reminding patrons about the parking restrictions and to consider their travel plans prior to heading to 1300SMILES Stadium on Friday night and Riverway Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Police will be enforcing the parking restrictions around the grounds and are urging all patrons to use the public transport available.
Police will also be performing traffic control duties before and after the games to ensure the safety of all road users.
It is important to obey all directions given by police.
Cowboys kick off is at 7.55PM on Friday and Suns kickoff is at 1.45pm on Saturday so please allow sufficient time to get to the grounds.
According to Townsville City Council, streets in the event restricted parking area include:
St Andrews Close
Golf Links Drive(from Hervey Range Road to Woodlake Avenue)
St Davids Close
Sweet Gum Place
Beck Drive (Hervey Range Road to Parkside Drive Roundabout)
Evergreen Drive (from Morindo Drive to house number 24)
