Man Wanted Over Townsville Bus Driver Assault

Police have released a photograph to help locate a man who they believe can assist with investigations into the assault of a bus driver in Townsville last month.

Around 4.45pm on Tuesday, an alleged altercation occurred when a man exited the bus at Barryman Street in Hyde Park.

The man then ripped the 62-year-old male bus driver’s nametag off his shirt before getting off the bus and throwing it back towards the bus hitting its windscreen.

The victim was shaken but uninjured.

Anyone in the area during 4.30pm and 5:00pm on March 19 who may be able to assist with investigations, particularly pedestrians with mobile phone footage or road users with dash cam vision, is urged to contact police.
