Townsville Dog Squad assist in state-wide drug bust

A major Queensland drug bust has seen 19 people charges with more than 270 offences. Operation Whiskey Decker began a year ago – aiming to crackdown on drug trafficking in Northwest Queensland.

With the help of Townsville’s Dog Squad, a network of drug traffickers have now been taken down, accused of supplying cocaine, methylamphetamine, MDMA, cannabis and heroin throughout the state..

On May 20 and 21, police from Mount Isa, Mackay, Gold Coast MOCS, State Flying Squad, and Townsville Dog Squad executed search warrants that led to 19 arrests in Mount Isa, Mackay, Ipswich, Logan and the Gold Coast – along with the seizure of $110,000 in cash.

If anyone has any information at all in relation to the use, supply or trafficking of serious drugs such as methylamphetamine, cocaine and MDMA in the community, police urge them to report the matter via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
