A boy has been charged over a home invasion and car theft at Annandale.
Police say two young males broke into an Allamanda Crescent home and stole items including a phone, wallet and car keys around 1.30pm yesterday.
The residents, a man and woman in their 70s, disturbed the pair who attempted to run from the scene.
It’s alleged one of the males attempted to swing an item he was holding towards the woman, but missed.
One of the boys is accused of stealing a Toyota Kluger from the garage, while the second boy left in a waiting white vehicle.
Investigations lead police to locate a 14-year-old boy around 11.30pm yesterday at Mount Louisa.
He has been charged with one count each of enter dwelling with intent by break, armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and stealing.
His bail has been refused and he is expected to appear before Townsville Children’s Court today.
Investigations remain ongoing and police urge anyone with information or relevant footage to come forward.
