Townsville Police say there is no threat to the public, despite uncovering a string of violent and dangerous incidents they now believe are linked across the city.
Detectives have released confronting CCTV footage showing a white ute ramming a Currajong business before a masked man enters and appears to set the building on fire. The attack happened February 9 with the vehicle fleeing moments later.
Shortly after, another masked offender was captured on CCTV firing shots into a gym on Woolcock Street at Mount Louisa. A vehicle was then found burning at Black River, believed to be the same ute used in the earlier attacks.
Police say these incidents may be connected to a September 2025 shooting in Yabulu, where four offenders forced their way into a home and fired shots inside. The man targeted in that attack was later sentenced for weapons offences.
Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Inspector Dave Barron said investigators have made significant progress but are still piecing together the full picture.
He confirmed there are no suspects currently in custody, but assured the community there is no ongoing risk as detectives continue to pursue several strong lines of inquiry.
Police are now calling on the public to help fill in the gaps. Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from Currajong, Mount Louisa, Black River or Yabulu around the relevant dates is urged to come forward.
