Townsville father Lochlan Attwood is lacing up his boots for a journey with heart. Later this month, he’ll set off on a seven-day, 329-kilometre walk from Townsville to Cairns, averaging 50 kilometres a day.

It’s no ordinary trek with Lochlan is walking in memory of his son Hunter, who was stillborn at 32 weeks in September 2022.

“This walk is about honouring Hunter” he says. “Six Australian families lose a baby to stillbirth every single day.”

Funds raised will go directly to the Stillbirth Foundation Australia, which supports vital research, education, and advocacy. Lochlan hopes his steps will help spare other families the heartbreak his own has endured.

You can support his journey and donate via the Attwood family’s GoFundMe page.
