Townsville has secured one of only two regional stadium shows on the Foo Fighters’ newly announced Australia and New Zealand Take Cover Stadium Tour. The band will perform at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on November 7 as part of their first national tour since 2023.
The tour announcement follows the Foo Fighters’ record‑breaking performance in Tasmania last month, which became the largest concert ever held in the state.
Townsville joins Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne and Adelaide on the Australian leg of the tour, with additional dates scheduled for Christchurch, Auckland and Perth in early 2027. The inclusion of Townsville reflects the band’s decision to expand beyond major capitals and bring their stadium production to regional centres.
Tickets for the Townsville show go on sale February 25 at midday, with pre‑sales beginning February 20.
The Foo Fighters’ return marks another significant live‑music event for North Queensland, with Queensland Country Bank Stadium set to host one of the biggest international rock acts of the year.
