As ex‑Tropical Cyclone Koji moves further away from the Queensland coast, Ergon Energy crews are continuing the massive job of restoring power to affected communities.

Field teams worked right through Sunday night, and as of 5am today, around 2,500 customers remain without electricity- across Townsville, the Whitsundays and the Mackay region.

Around 20,500 customers have already had their power restored with Ergon Energy saying crews will be back out today working on the remaining outages. Some customers in more remote or heavily damaged areas may face longer delays, depending on how accessible the sites are and the extent of the network damage.

Damage assessments will continue throughout the day, with updated restoration timeframes to be added to Ergon’s online outage finder as soon as they’re confirmed. This will help residents plan ahead and understand what to expect.

Anyone still without power can check the latest information via Ergon Network’s outage finder, which provides real‑time updates on restoration progress.
