A man remains on the run after a daylight attack at a Townsville shopping centre.

It’s alleged a 49-year-old man was flagged down by two men in a silver Holden Colorado utility on Stock Route Way on November 3, between11am and 12pm.

The two men exited the vehicle and allegedly assaulted the man, dragging him to the ground, where he was kicked and punched multiple times.

It will be further alleged the men stole both the man’s jacket and shirt before returning to their vehicle and fleeing the scene.

As a result of the assault, the 49-year-old man sustained significant facial injuries.

Police have since charged a 39-year-old Mount Low man with one count of robbery with violence.

He will next face Townsville Magistrates Court on December 19.

Investigators have released images of the incident and are still searching for the second man involved in the assault.
