The North Queensland Cowboys have secured one of their key middle‑forward contributors, re‑signing prop Tom Mikaele on a two‑year extension that keeps him at the club until the end of the 2028 NRL season.
The 28‑year‑old has become a reliable presence in Todd Payten’s rotation, adding size, experience and consistency through the middle of the park.
Since arriving in 2024, Mikaele has played 23 games in Cowboys colours and has now reached 90 NRL appearances across his career. A Keebra Park State High product, he made his debut with the Wests Tigers in 2019 before stints with the Gold Coast Titans and Warrington in the UK Super League.
His re‑signing reinforces the Cowboys’ forward depth and signals confidence in the role he’s carved out over the past year. He’s currently sidelined, recovering from a knee injury.
