Townsville police have charged 11 people on 48 offences after a major day of intelligence‑driven patrols that saw officers track and intercept multiple stolen vehicles across the city on Wednesday.

Police allege three stolen cars — a Nissan Qashqai, Toyota Corolla Cross and Toyota Hilux — were followed through Railway Estate, Hermit Park, Riverway Drive and Dimmock Street, with POLAIR assisting ground crews as offenders attempted to flee. Several arrests were made after tyre deflation devices were deployed and vehicles were abandoned.

Acting Senior Sergeant Jason Milner said the coordinated response between TTCS, General Duties, POLAIR and DTACC was key to the arrests, with those charged now facing a range of offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary, drug possession and trespass.

Police say proactive patrols will continue as investigations into the stolen vehicles remain ongoing.
