A quiet morning in Thuringowa took a tragic turn when emergency services were called to the Riverway Lagoons around 11am yesterday.
A 38‑year‑old man was pulled from the public pool, with paramedics working to revive him. Despite their efforts, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have now launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning. While details remain limited, authorities have confirmed that the Lagoon will remain closed until further notice as inquiries continue.
