Queensland Rum Day returned on Saturday, October 25, celebrating the state’s rich sugarcane heritage and world-class rum craftsmanship. Now in its third year, the event has become one of Australia’s most anticipated spirit celebrations.

This year, Burdekin Rum joined four other distilleries – Bundaberg Rum, Beenleigh Rum, Nil Desperandum Rum, and Kalki Moon Distilling & Brewing – for the creation of the Rum Consortium 2025 Release, a limited-edition blend of rums aged between two and 12 years. Crafted from both molasses and fresh-pressed sugarcane juice, the 40% ABV blend contains no added sugar and captures the best of Queensland’s agricultural heritage.

Burdekin Rum CEO Tim Lamb said the collaboration is a unique opportunity to showcase local craftsmanship. And with only 5,280 bottles are available, each are individually numbered and capture the best of Queensland’s sugarcane heritage.
